  • A Grown-up Kind of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson. I just started this book. I don't know what to think yet.
  • The Home and The World by Radindranath Tagore. I don't know if this one counts. I haven't picked it up in a while but, I am determined to finish it this week. It's not very good but, I'm half done.
I Finished Reading

  • Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt.  I had trouble starting this book. I did enjoy it, once I made up my mind to finish it. I did not like the language though.
  • After the Funeral by Edwin Murphy. I liked the book. However, it was a little wordy and dry.
  • Everneath by Brody Ashton. I loved this book. I can't wait to read the next one.
  • Winds of Hope by Anita Stansfield. I loved this book. It was the best of the trilogy. I hated finishing it.
I plan on reading next

I am a part of a group on GoodReads called the The Seasonal Reading Challenge. This Is Basically How it works...
Each season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) a new challenge with a series of reading related tasks such as Reading a book written by a Goodreads Author or Reading a book and watching the film will be posted. Tasks are based on suggestions from members of the group and my own personal ideas. Each task is assigned a point level and then it's up to you to decide which tasks you'll attempt (or if you want to try to finish them all) and then find the books that fit.

The Fall Season is ending at the end of this month. I have 9 books I want to finish. This would give me 200 more points. This is one of the reasons my books are all so different. Sometimes I read books that I really want to read. Sometimes I read books I would never have read in the first place but, end up loving.

UnWholly Book Review

13545075 Title: UnWholly(Unwind  #2)
Author: Neal Shusterman
Published:August 2012
Pages: 402
Genre:Young Adult, Dytopia, Science Fiction, and Fantasy
Rating 3 out of 5 Stars

GoodReads Synopsis
Thanks to Connor, Lev, and Risa—and their high-profile revolt at Happy Jack Harvest Camp—people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of troublesome teens while simultaneously providing much-needed tissues for transplant might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests that want to see it not only continue, but also expand to the unwinding of prisoners and the impoverished.

Cam is a product of unwinding; made entirely out of the parts of other unwinds, he is a teen who does not technically exist. A futuristic Frankenstein, Cam struggles with a search for identity and meaning and wonders if a rewound being can have a soul. And when the actions of a sadistic bounty hunter cause Cam’s fate to become inextricably bound with the fates of Connor, Risa, and Lev, he’ll have to question humanity itself.

Rife with action and suspense, this riveting companion to the perennially popular Unwind challenges assumptions about where life begins and ends—and what it means to live.

My Thoughts
I liked UnWholly. I thought it was good I just wanted more of the main characters.  They were in the book but, they felt like supporting actors for the four new players Cam, Miracolina, Starkey, and Nelson.
Cam I liked. I wasn't sure at first but, he grew on me. Miracolina was a female version of Lev only worse. Nelson I liked from the beginning. Starkey is a darker version of Roland. I liked Roland. I hated Starkey. I wanted to unwind him myself. Although, he fits the book.
UnWholly is a little darker then Unwind.  They introduce the black market of parts dealing. With the lowering of unwinding age, parts are at a premium and some people will do anything to cash in.

This book made me think. If the technology in the book was available I can see it being used. If you don't like something about yourself, buy a new one. I can see people replacing everything about themselves. Family members would no longer resemble each other.

Last week I mentioned it's a toss up what I planned to read. I have a lot of books I want to read and I don't always read the one I think I will. Out of the three books I thought I would read last week, I read one. We will see though. I have 5 books I'm waiting on from the library. If they arrive I don't know if I will read any of these.

Don't forget to play along

What I'm currently Reading November 6, 2013

  • I'm almost finished reading Witches of East End by Melissa De La Cruz. The book is good but, it is not a YA. It is listed that way on GoodReads.
  • I started Unwholly by Neal Shusterman last night when my Nook died.
  • After the Funeral by Edwin Murphy and the Home and the World by Rabindranath Tagore are books I read when I am in between books I really want to read. They are not the best of books but, I would like to finish them. After the funeral has really good information but, it is so loaded down with facts, it's hard to get to the information I want to know.
  • Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by  John Berendt. Just started it. It hasn't fully caught my attention.

13505965  1636851
What I recently finished Reading
  • The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver
  • The Pumpkin rollers by Elmer Kelton
As you probably noticed by now I read everything. I do prefer Sci-Fi and Paranormal.

What do I think I will read Next

It's always a toss up, what I will read next. It depends on my mood. I have around 20 books currently checked out of the library but, these three are the ones I have been looking forward to.
  • Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky
  • Everneath by Brodi Ashton
  • Winds of Hope by Anita Stansfield
I hope you decide to play along.
